Clan MacIain

The Clan MacIain (Gaelic: Clann Mhic Iain) is a historic Highland clan descended from the Lords of the Isles. They established their stronghold in Ardnamurchan, the westernmost point of the British mainland, where they held lands for centuries. Known as seafarers and warriors, the MacIains were a proud and independent branch of the great Clan Donald, and their story is deeply woven into the turbulent history of the Highlands and Western Isles.
