Clan MacKay

The Clan MacKay (Gaelic: Clann Mhic Aoidh, meaning “Son of Aodh” or “Son of Fire”) is one of the most renowned clans of the far north of Scotland. For centuries, the MacKays held vast lands in Strathnaver, Sutherland, and were famed as fearless warriors, often called the “Mighty MacKays of the North.” Their history is marked by loyalty, independence, and a proud martial tradition that shaped the Highland story.
