The name "Sgian Dubh" (Gaelic for Black Knife) is believed to have originated from the knife's dark appearance, with early handles often carved from black bog wood and blades darkened through use and age. Another theory suggests its name stems from the dark or sinister nature of an easily concealed weapon. Traditionally, the Sgian Dubh is openly displayed in the top of the stocking while wearing Highland attire, signifying friendship and goodwill.

With over 43 years of experience in the Scottish Clan crest business, we are now proud to offer Clan jewelry for the descendants of our inaugural customers. Embrace your Scottish heritage with our exceptional Sgian Dubh, a timeless symbol of tradition and craftsmanship.
