Clan MacLeod of Lewis

The Clan MacLeod of Lewis (Gaelic: Clann Mhic Leòid Leòdhais) is the cadet branch of the mighty Clan MacLeod, descending from Torquil, the son of Leod. Based in the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, they were renowned as powerful sea-lords with deep Norse-Gaelic roots. Their seat was once Stornoway Castle, a center of Hebridean influence.
