Suitable for all Clans, this luxurious Sgian Dubh features a handle and sheath made from durable resin, complemented by plated metal fittings. When placing your order, kindly specify your preferred color.

The Clan crest is beautifully encircled by an intricate belt and buckle motif, featuring your Clan motto engraved in raised relief lettering. Each piece is carefully handcrafted in sterling silver, with the Clan Crest measuring 11/16" (19.5 mm) in diameter. Historically, the Clan chief would present the crest to his clansmen as a mark of loyalty and Clan allegiance.

Kindly note that this item is made to order, requiring a few days for completion. Crests are available for all Clans.

The Origin of the "Sgian Dubh"

The term Sgian Dubh, which translates from Gaelic as "Black Knife," is believed to have originated from the dark appearance of early knives, characterized by black bog wood handles and blades that darkened with time and use. Another theory posits that the name derives from the weapon's discreet nature, as it was traditionally tucked into the top of the stocking to indicate that the wearer was among friends and harbored no ill intentions. The Sgian Dubh is not intended as a weapon and should not be regarded as such.

For over 43 years, our company has been dedicated to specializing in Scottish Clan crest jewelry, now crafting pieces for the children and grandchildren of our initial customers.
