Introducing our exquisite Scottish Clan Crest Sgian Dubh, a traditional Scottish black-handled knife adorned with your Clan crest in either lead-free pewter or fine sterling silver.

This brand-new Sgian Dubh measures 7-1/2” long by 1-3/8” wide and features a stainless steel blade with nickel silver-plated fittings. The top boasts an imitation topaz, sapphire blue, or emerald green synthetic stone for added elegance.

Each Sgian Dubh is meticulously crafted with attention to detail, featuring your Clan crest surrounded by a detailed belt and buckle design, with your Clan motto inscribed in raised relief lettering. In ancient times, the chief of the Clan presented his crest to his clansmen as a symbol of loyalty and affiliation. The Clan Crest measures 11/16" (19.5mm) in diameter.

Please note that this item is made to order but typically takes only a few days to complete. Every Clan is available, so simply add your Clan name in the comment area when placing your order to complete your special request.

It's important to note that while this Sgian Dubh is very well made, the handle and sheath are crafted from resin material, and the fittings are plated. Compared to a "genuine" old Sgian Dubh with sterling silver fittings, which can sell for over $1,000.00, this Sgian Dubh is an economy model offering exceptional value.

The origins of the name Sgian Dubh, Gaelic for "Black Knife," are thought to stem from its dark appearance, with early handles often carved from black bog wood. Alternatively, it may derive from the concealed nature of the weapon, traditionally worn in the top of the stocking during Highland attire to signify friendship and goodwill. It's essential to recognize that the Sgian Dubh was not, is not, and should not be considered a weapon.

With over forty years of experience in the Scottish Clan crest business, our company now proudly serves the children and grandchildren of our original customers, continuing to uphold tradition and craftsmanship in every piece we create.
