The Scottish Clan Crest Higher Quality Sgian Dubh, crafted by The Sgian Dubh Company in Scotland, represents the pinnacle of quality in traditional Scottish knives. Each Sgian Dubh comes elegantly presented in its own high-quality blue presentation box, proudly bearing the "Made in Scotland" label.

This exquisite Sgian Dubh features a traditional black handle and is available with your Clan crest in either lead-free pewter or fine sterling silver, with all Clans available for selection. It's noted as the high-end option, meticulously crafted with a resin handle and sheath, complemented by plated metal fittings. While genuine antique Sgian Dubhs with sterling silver fittings can fetch over $1,000, this offering provides exceptional quality at a more accessible price point.

Measuring 7 1/2” (190 mm) in length and 1 3/8” (35 mm) in width, the Sgian Dubh boasts a stainless steel blade and nickel silver-plated fittings. The top is adorned with an imitation glass stone, available in blue sapphire, emerald green, or purple amethyst glass—allowing customers to personalize their order.

Surrounding the Clan crest is a detailed belt and buckle design, with the Clan motto inscribed in raised relief lettering. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted in sterling silver, with the Clan Crest measuring 11/16" (19.5 mm) in diameter, evoking the tradition of Clan loyalty and affiliation.

While this item is made to order and requires a few days for creation, every Clan is available for selection, ensuring inclusivity and personalization for each customer.

The history of the Sgian Dubh, Gaelic for Black Knife, is rooted in its dark appearance and historical significance. Traditionally worn in the stocking during Highland attire to signify peaceful intent among friends, the Sgian Dubh should not be considered a weapon but rather a symbol of tradition and camaraderie.

With over 43 years of experience in the Scottish Clan crest business, the company takes pride in serving multiple generations of customers, reflecting its commitment to quality craftsmanship and heritage preservation.
