Clan MacKinnon

The Clan MacKinnon (Gaelic: Clann Mhic Fhionghuin, meaning “Son of the Fair Born”) is one of the oldest clans of the Hebrides, claiming descent from the royal house of the ancient Siol Alpin. Traditionally based on the Isles of Skye and Mull, the MacKinnons were known as seafarers, warriors, and loyal supporters of the Lords of the Isles. Their history is deeply tied to the Western Isles and the rugged Highlands of Scotland.
